Film Indonesia Tengah Disorot Mata Dunia

Festival Film Indonesia (FFI) th. ini rupanya tidak cuma dibicarakan di Indonesia semata. Menurut Ismail Basbeth, sutradara Mencari Hilal, FFI th. ini nyatanya juga disorot pengamat film dari luar negeri. 

" Saat saya diluar negeri, banyak pengamat yang ajukan pertanyaan, 'Apa yang tengah berlangsung dengan sinema Indonesia? Mengapa nyaris di semuanya festival film besar ada film Indonesia? ' " papar Ismail waktu didapati di lokasi Thamrin, Jakarta, Rabu (18/11). 

Menurut dia, beberapa pengamat keheranan film Indonesia sukses masuk serta diputar, bahkan juga tampil perdana, di festival-festival film besar internasional selama 2015. 

Di Venice International Film Festival ke-72, cuma Indonesia serta Thailand yang dipilih melukiskan estetika serta trend perfilman internasional. Dari Indonesia, A Copy of My Mind karya Joko Awar dipilih tampil dari beberapa ribu film yang didaftarkan Sinopsis Film Terbaru. 

Dalam Busan International Film Festival di Korea, Indonesia juga sukses menayangkan dua karya. Lagi-lagi A Copy of My Mind punya Joko, ditambah Aach... Saya Jatuh Cinta karya Garin Nugroho. Keduanya tampil dalam program " A Window on Asian Cinema. " 

Toronto International Film Festival, satu diantara festival bergengsi di Amerika Utara juga melihat karya film Indonesia. Joko masihlah dengan jagoannya, A Copy of My Mind. Menariknya, film itu bahkan juga memperoleh standing ovation dari pemirsa TIFF 2015. 

Di acara Tokyo International Film Festival pada akhir Oktober lantas, dua film Indonesia disaksikan umum Jepang. Ke-2 film itu yaitu Guru Bangsa HOS Tjokroaminoto serta Mencari Hilal. Walau sebenarnya didalam negeri, keduanya bukanlah yang terlaris. 

Indonesia juga telah kirim sebagian film untuk ikuti seleksi festival bergengsi Cannes. Tabula Rasa, Filosofi Kopi, serta film pendek The Fox Exploits the Tiger's Might diantar ke Perancis. 

" Satu tahun ini penuh, film panjang ataupun pendek. Pengamat film diluar menyampaikan pada saya, bila berkwalitas seperti ini selalu, film Indonesia dalam lima th. ke depan bakal beralih mencolok, " papar Ismail. 

Untuk wujudkan itu, menurut dia mesti ada prasyarat berbentuk ketekunan. Pertama, pembuatnya mesti beberapa orang seperti yang filmnya telah banyak dipuji dunia. Ke-2, memerlukan jaminan dari institusi. " Satu diantaranya FFI, " Ismail menyatakan. 

Ismail lihat, FFI bisa jadi standard kwalitas perfilman nasional. Apabila kwalitas FFI terbangun, bukanlah tidak mungkin standard film Indonesia juga bakal naik. 

Penulis skenario, Salman Aristo telah mulai lihat pergantian dalam FFI. " Nominasi th. ini ngeri sekali. Bukanlah sebatas penambahan, namun ledakan topik yang begitu mengagumkan yang bertanding di FFI. Film yang sukses lolos mempunyai kekuatannya sendiri-sendiri. FFI kesempatan ini asik sekali. "
